Our take
Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae PREMIER is a polished 4-star a few minutes' walk from Kyoto Tower and Karasuma Nanajo. Rooms are unfussy, there is a relaxed restaurant and Wi-Fi is free. A score of 8.8 from 1,588 reviews is a strong result. I would book it as a well-run, central base for sightseeing; it lists no pool, spa or gym, so those facilities mean looking at larger hotels around the station.
- Take advantage of the hotel's proximity to Kyoto Station for easy access to all major train lines and city buses.
- Consider dining at the hotel's relaxed restaurant for a convenient meal after a day of exploring.
- Use the complimentary Wi-Fi to plan your daily excursions and stay connected with family and friends.
