About this hotel

Roma Station Termini is a small address chosen above all for its position, a short walk from Roma Termini, the city's main railway station. From there, Frecciarossa and Italo high-speed trains leave for Florence, Naples and Milan, the Leonardo Express runs to Fiumicino airport, and metro lines A and B cross the centre, so most of Rome is one connection away. The Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major is within walking distance for an evening stroll, and the streets around the station offer plenty of places to eat. The public listing gives few details on facilities, so this works best as a place to sleep between early trains and long days out. The 8.2 score comes from only 39 reviews, a small but positive sample.

  • Opposite a side entrance of Roma Termini
  • Luggage storage
  • One room for guests with pets, on request
  • Cots for babies on request
  • Colosseum about 1 km away
  • Rated 8.2 from 39 guest reviews

Our take

Roma Station Termini describes itself as directly opposite one of Termini's side entrances, and that is the whole case for it: metro lines A and B cross under the station, and the Leonardo Express to Fiumicino leaves from its platforms. It holds luggage, which saves a day dragging cases after checkout, and keeps one room for guests travelling with a pet, to be requested when booking. Its 8.2 comes from only 39 reviews and I could not confirm a 24-hour desk, so I would book it for an early train or a late arrival with the check-in time agreed in advance, not for a long Roman stay.

  • Termini is huge and its side entrances are far apart: ask the guest house which entrance it faces, so you leave the train toward the right street instead of crossing the whole station hall.
  • Use the luggage storage after checkout: you can walk to the Colosseum, about 1 km away, and come back for your bags before an evening train.
  • Travelling with a dog or cat? One room is set aside for pets, and it must be requested at booking time.
  • For Fiumicino, the Leonardo Express leaves from Termini; allow time to walk to its platforms, which sit at the far end of the station.

Why we love it

  • Proximity to Roma Termini railway station
  • Easy access to public transport
  • Walking distance to a major basilica
  • Convenient for airport transfers
Why guests love it

For a family, the draw is the distance: getting off a train at Termini and reaching the door without a taxi, then leaving the bags here after checkout while you visit the Colosseum about 1 km away. Cots are available on request, subject to availability, which matters with a baby. What I cannot confirm is a lift, room sizes or a reception staffed around the clock, and a small guest house in a station block may involve stairs with a pushchair, so ask before booking. The 8.2 from 39 guests is respectable on a small sample. For more than two nights with children, a larger hotel with breakfast and a staffed desk would serve better.
